A Poem about History

One day
In the future
Maybe closer than we’d like to imagine

There will be
A little tiny
Thumb drive with everything on it.

Every. Thing.
We’d ever recorded
In human history up to that point.

All the words
Written by anyone
In an instant message, scroll, or novel.

On that drive
I hope they find
Every one of these keystrokes.

They’ll call it
“Humanity on a stick”
But it won’t be as filling. Or as tasty.
As a corndog. A hotdog, on a stick.
